Moving into a new place or redecorating? Don’t want to drill holes in your walls? Here’s how to use 3M double-sided tape the right way.
Clean the surface first
This is the most important step. Wipe the wall with a clean cloth and let it dry completely. No dust, no oil, no problem.
Press firmly and wait
After applying the tape, press down hard for 30 seconds. Then wait 24 hours before hanging anything. The adhesive needs time to bond with the wall.
Choose the right tape
For lightweight items like photos, use thin tape. For heavier frames, go for thicker foam tape like our 3M thick foam pads.
Easy removal
When you’re ready to take it down, use dental floss or fishing line to cut through the adhesive. Gently peel off and clean any residue with mild soap.
